 Welcome to Alisha and Toby’s Travel Blog!

Here’s to our first blog entry! Back in January 2023, Toby and I made the huge decision to leave behind the corporate 9 to 5 lifestyle. We wanted a more fulfilling life. We didn’t really know what this might look like, but what we did know is that there must be more magic to life than working until we were 65+. And, we just weren’t willing to wait until retirement to explore this beautiful planet of ours.

On 11th September 2024, we left the UK with gratitude and excitement filling our hearts. Although it was difficult for our family to see us leave, this felt like the right thing – a great thing for us. We planned to open our minds and hearts to the world beyond the UK in the hopes of having the best experience together for 10 months.

But – is 10 months enough? We thought so at first. But, honestly – now that we have a taste for freedom, we want more!

We decided to start this travel blog to bring our magical adventures to the world. Our hope is that people may enjoy reading along and perhaps even be inspired to follow their own dreams.

Our aim is to be able to bring you real world insights based on our experiences. We’d love to help guide you as you plan your own travels, be that a short break or a long mini-retirement! Not all people are fortunate enough to be in our position, so let us bring the magic to you. Maybe, just maybe, you might even find yourself seeking inspiration to follow a similar path.

As we muddle our way through this planet, our hope is that we might also be able to find new ways of automating our income streams to allow location independence. Or, that digital nomad lifestyle that so many of us with lofty goals are hoping to achieve! Stay tuned into Alisha and Toby’s travel blog for hints, tips and learning points from us on this too!
